The Watercolour Painting Class Martyr Worthy (2) is for you if you like to learn as a member of a sociable and enthusiastic group. The lessons are themed, focused, and enjoyable. So, with support from the tutor, you will complete simple exercises, create finished paintings, and have fun with your painting ideas.
Before Christmas, we worked on a variety of still-life projects. And since the New Year, we have been inspired by the work of Henri Matisse. As a result of looking at Matisse’s paintings, all the students in the class produced three very different pictures. Every painting looked both striking and unusual.
Moving on to the next set of lessons, from February 2022, we will be looking at studio landscapes in watercolour. So that, by April, when the weather allows, we will be ready to paint outdoors, en-plein-air. For alternative classes, see here.

NOTE: Please note that beginners are not accepted into this group. However, if you are looking for a watercolour painting class at beginner level, you may like to consider one of the ‘Beginner Level Saturday Workshops’ that are held on occasional Saturdays throughout the year in Martyr Worthy Village Hall, near Winchester from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.
